Alain Bertrand’s Top-10 Women of the Year

MY TOP 10 WOMEN of  2012

Like I said in a previous blogpost, 2012 has been quite a flat good year. But it also looked like Venus’ last solar transit gave women a boost like never before. Noticeably in business, causes, politics where they seem to instill a new style in management and initiative taking. Their moves have been smarter, sexily intelligent, and gutsy at times. They have been ruling the thoughts leadership planet, getting things to be seen, felt in a somehow unusual perspective. But then again, it worked out well!  The girls, this year have shown that serious pragmatic matters can be run with the heart, with experience and manly logic as supporting the drive. Here’s my personal Top 10 Women of the year, beyond their natural beauty, they have, at least, one common feature… Innovation!…  Even my 75-years young Mum!

e-Reputation Monitoring and Management! How does this work?

e-Reputation Monitoring and Management! How does this work?

e-Reputation is a real issue for modern Brands

Reputation, at all levels, makes the persona, makes the Brand, determines success or failure.

Better to hold a spell from afar than dispel it in light of day.

Kimberly King

If in the real World, things go like this, they just do so in the virtual World. Reputation on the Web and in Social Networks is just as essential. Online reputation is called e-Reputation and forms part of what Social Media Strategists have to nurture and manage during a campaign and beyond.

A good e-reputation is source of trust and peace of mind. It conveys confidence and a sense of pride. Such qualities, in return, bring in referrals and positive engagement either in terms of business/ market share or in terms of aura or personal charisma. And this is good for the ROI. Isn’t Social Media About Being… Social, Human, Not Speculative? (2012)

Social Media is a Human Tool, not just another Techno Bubble…

At the beginning, there was that massive information influx from true-gurus, neo-gurus, pseudo-gurus, fake-gurus and from Mr. and Mrs. Anybody about Social Media. It reminded of some ill-famous bubble that was inflating so fast, that only a very few could predict its burst and resulting spills. If one can recall, the dot com bubble started just like that; a buzz about prefix-investing. One just had to add e. at the beginning of his company name or .com at the end of it, to pretend to be the next big brand around, driving all sorts of investors to the cliff edge like a bunch of silly sheep. At least, this episode allowed us to see the start and end of a “boom and burst cycle” live, in one actual lifetime. But did we retain our lessons well?

Technology is the extension of our intentions.

The place of Social Media in a Sustainable future

The Source of The Interrogation

I was once asked to situate the position of Social Media in a sustainable world. What place would it take? What impact? How relevant? What was the toll of having more than 2 billion people connected in a smaller-made wired world?

It took me hours, days to figure that out, even though I had thought, initially, that the answers were as obvious as eyes on a face! Continue reading

Onboard the RIO+20 Global Initiative through Global Dialogues

The Big Splash into the GLOBAL DIALOGUES

This has been 2 weeks since I got onboard the Mauritian team working towards the UN Conference Rio+20 initiative. What a rich, fruitful fortnight this has been! As a professional and an individual it has been very much inspiring.

For me, that was the perfect timing to meet with world class individuals and professionals, to start working on communication concepts that would boost the Mauritius Ile Durable (MID) Concept amidst the Global effort to change attitudes towards the environmental problems plaguing our planet.

I would suggest you join the move too. (by Clicking on the links provided at the end of the article).  It is your world, your planet and your future after all ! Continue reading
